Chris Seay
From Belmont, North Carolina, Chris Seay is a native to the state’s musical and marching arts activities. Chris is currently studying his Graduate degree in Applied Music in Tuba Performance and Pedagogy from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This was preceded by a Bachelors in Music Education from Western Carolina University in 2022. In the marching arts, Chris was a performer for four years with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from 2018-2021, of which the brass line won the esteemed Jim Ott Brass Award at the 2019 DCI World Championships. At Crown, he held the position of tuba section leader for two years, as well as Visual Member of the Year in 2021. Performing was quickly followed by teaching, as he is currently on the brass instructional staff at Carolina Crown, which was preceded by being on the brass instructional staff of the Santa Clara Vanguard for the 2022 season.
While in pursuit of his Masters, Chris avidly teaches privately and provides marching arts clinic instruction. He is heavily involved with performance, both inside and outside of OSU, performing with the Brevard Philharmonic and the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas. Chris most recently an associate/substitute member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for the upcoming season.
