Barron Maskew - Visual Performance Ensemble
Barron Maskew is a band director at Hickory Middle School in Chesapeake. He also assists with the Hickory High School marching band and has formerly served as the band director at Hickory High School and Parkville High School. Barron is a graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia where he has earned two degrees, a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Masters in Music Education with an emphasis in conducting.
Outside of his work at Hickory Middle, Barron has served as visual co-caption head of Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps and Carolina Gold Winds where he helped lead the Winds ensemble to second place at WGI World Championships. He currently works as part of the brass team at Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps. Barron is an active drill writer who has written drill for multiple high school marching bands, the ODU Marching Band, and for the ODU Drumline in their performance with the Virginia International Tattoo.
Barron’s professional affiliations include MBDNA, NAfME, VBODA, and VMEA.
