Rachel Harshman is the new Director of Bands at Rolesville High School. Ms. Harshman earned her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Appalachian State University, Class of 2024. During her time in school, Ms. Harshman performed with AppState’s Marching Mountaineers, Appalachian Wind Ensemble, Appalachian Symphony Orchestra, Appalachian Symphony Band, Appalachian Concert Band, and the Clarinet Ensemble. Continuing with her passion for AppState, Ms. Harshman has worked as a Camp Counselor at Cannon Music Camp where she taught conducting sessions with her professor, Dr. John Stanley Ross.
Ms. Harshman is a part of the North Carolina Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the National Band Association.
Ms. Harshman has worked for bands throughout North Carolina and South Carolina and is excited to begin her professional teaching career as the Director of Bands at Rolesville High School!
Zack Marshall works in the Raleigh, NC area providing schools with high-quality music arrangements, original compositions, and percussion instruction. He received his degree in Music Theory and Composition from East Carolina University and has been writing and teaching music since 2006. Zack studied brass in high school and college but also performed percussion in marching band and drum corps. He has worked in multiple states and with programs all over North Carolina while currently maintaining a private studio of composition and percussion students as well as serving several Wake county bands (including Rolesville Rams!). Outside work hours, Zack enjoys cooking, rock climbing, and a good game of chess. Zack currently resides in Wake Forest with his wife, two sons, and dog.
